Environment AssemblyBeginner & IntermediateThe United Nations Environment Assembly is the highest-level decision-making body on the environment with all 193 members included. The assembly focuses on environmental challenges where the long term goal is sustainable development and set priorities for global environmental policies and develop international environmental law. The debating can become increasingly challenging due to a common frustration from lack of consensus from other members. The assembly requires a certain degree of innovative thinking as environmental issues are complex and multi-faceted with solutions not being readily evident. This assembly is an opportunity for enthusiastic participants to get challenged and learn more about actively debating.

Security CouncilIntermediate & AdvancedThe Security Council is the classic Model United Nations committee. Most conferences offer delegates the opportunity to debate in this rigorous, challenging yet very rewarding council. Comprised of 15 members states, 5 of which are permanent members and have a veto power, the Security Council aims at establishing and maintaining international peace and security through the resolutions that are passed during debate. This is the only UN organ with the capacity to authorize military intervention and to carry forward binding resolutions to all members. Discussion in this council can get heated and consensus building can span more than a day with not all issues on the agenda necessarily being discussed during the conference, making this council more challenging and suitable for more advanced participants.

Crisis CommitteeIntermediate & AdvancedIn the crisis committee, as the name suggests, the participants will be tasked with addressing a hypothetical crisis which will develop as the conference proceeds. Debates are fast-paced and the committee can be a very unique experience for students looking for a more dynamic experience that is always fresh and up-to-date. Solutions change rapidly on the basis of what the problem is, meaning that debate requires quick thinking but also some degree of planning to create effective solutions. Creativity and knowledge are key in this committee and therefore is suitable for the advanced participant looking for a challenge.
